Polar bears are getting quite a lot of media attention these days because of global warming and people are becoming more familiar with them. But here’s a side of them that we don’t see every day: The playful side. Above is a wild male polar bear, about 1,200lbs and probably hadn’t eaten in 4 months, playing with sled dogs in the North of Manitoba, Canada. This is not a unique event, it happens more often than we think in nature.
i know i know. you all want pet polar bears now. how could you not. i always wanted one. we could hunt together and it would be amazing. when i was a kid, here in calgary, we had a great polar bear exhibit at the zoo. many levels and many ways to watch them. most family visits all i wanted to do was stay and watch them.. i want to go back to the 70s, where polar bears are safe, and my biggest worry is which level is best to hide on so mom can’t drag me to the stupid monkeys.

I’m not sure why this excites me at all but it does. Something about monoculture in agriculture that freaks me out and people who dig seeds aren’t likely the sort of ppl who talk in the abstract about things.
i’m going to invite my mom to come down and go with me, i can take lots of pictures and buy some seed for the garden i’m dreaming of having this summer (after i get moved).
